The moon

The Moon is the Earth natural satellite. It was Luna for the Romans, Selene and Artemis to the Greeks, and other names in different mythologies from antiquity. Only Selene is that it was regarded as the personification of the moon itself. The Moon has been an inspiration for poems, love songs, paintings, folklore, theater, films, among others.
Craters are observed on the surface of the moon, which are scars of impacts, preserved, which originated, the majority in the early formation of the Solar System.

Eclipses are the spectacular astronomical events. We have lunar and solar eclipses. Eclipses occur when a celestial body enters the shadow of another body, taking into account the Earth planet, where we are, we are the observers.

A lunar eclipse occurs when the moon enters the Earth’s shadow, and when it occurs, is always the Full Moon phase. When Earth passes through the shadow of the moon we have a solar eclipse, when that occurs, it is always the New Moon phase.
